The main difference is that embossing creates a raised impression on your card, while debossing produces a depressed impression. Most processes for both procedures are done through heat or by manual tracing using a stencil.

Lamination

Lamination provides a smooth and soft feel on your cards, usually water and tear-resistant and enhances the vibrant colors of your card design. It appears to be in a silk-like finish making it more glossy and professional looking. Business cards which are traditionally printed in full-color can be added with a unique texture coated with silk laminate finish which is durable and can resist different weather conditions.

Varnish

Varnishing your business cards can be done by applying a liquid coating to the printed surface creating a transparent glossy, mate, satin or neutral finish. Aside from gloss, matte and satin, another type of varnish which is getting popular right now is ultraviolet (UV) varnishing. It can be either all over the card or just a special spot like business name or company logo.
